2018 SDGA Senior & Super Senior
Stroke Play Championship

Dates: June 6 -7, 2018

Eligibility

This championship is open to make amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership:  Players must either (1) be a member of an SDGA member club or (2) be a 2018 SDGA Associate Member.
  • Age: Senior Division (55 or older as of June 6), Super Senior Division (65 or older as of June 6).
  • Handicap Index: Senior Division (12.4 or lower), Super Senior Division (15.0 or lower).

 

Divisions and Tees

Players will compete in one of the divisions listed below:

  • Senior Division (ages 55+) - WhiteTees at ~6,100 yards
  • Super Senior Division (ages 65+) - Gold Tees at ~5,800 yards

 

Field Size (60)

The field has been limited to the first 60 players to register. Additional players will be added to a waitlist in order by time of entry.

 

Entry Deadline

All entries must be received by the SDGA by 5:00pm on May 30, 2018. Entries will not be accepted if they are late, incomplete, faxed, emailed, or sent without full payment.

 

Rules

The USGA's Rules of Golf and any Local Rules/Conditions of Competition adopted by the SDGA will govern play.

 

Format

This championship's format is 36 holes of individual stroke play (no cut).


Pairings and Special Requests

The first round pairings will be emailed to players on Friday, June 1st. Pairings for the second round will be determined by score (highest teeing off earliest) and by division.

 

The SDGA will attempt to accommodate tee time requests and requests to pair players close together who may be traveling as a group. Any such requests must be emailed to SDGA Intern Jack Travers (jtravers@nysga.org) prior to the close of entries.

 

Pairings requests will not be considered.

Wednesday, June 6 // Round 1 // Tee times start 12:30 pm

Thursday, June 7 // Round 2 // Tee times start at 8:30 am

 

Complimentary Lunch on June 7

A complimentary lunch will be included following conclusion of play on Thursday, June 7.

 

Food Service

The club's halfway house and bar will be made available to players (cash only).

 

Cart Fee

If a player wishes to ride, the fee is $20 per player and is payable in the pro shop. If only two players are riding, they will be required to take one cart.

Prizes and Sovik Cup Points

Prize cards will be awarded to approximately 1/4 of each division.  Sovik Cup points will be awarded to the top-20 finishers in the Senior Division.  In the Super Senior Division points will be awarded to ½ the field toward the Super Senior Player of the Year.
